"A Sticky Situation" (1960) by Carl Barks

I like how advertising is literally still exactly as sexist as they’re joking about in this comic from 54 years ago.

"Brozen," "Bronies," what it all means is "I am so insecure about what I like that I MUST rebrand it as masculine before associating with it."

i read it more as “i hate girls and femininity so much that i am insulted at even the idea that i might have something in common with them”. like, i have a very hard time believing that it’s insecurity and not outright hatred that fuels that kind of thing.

Sketched out Twilight Sparkle, forgot to upload it for months.  Don’t you just hate when that happens.
Hey, not too long until Desucon: fantasy, guys!  Hope to see you there. :D

I got so fucking tired of that "I'm a guy and I like a cartoon for girls" and how the American news would fucking be all over that shit. How at the beginning of 'Brony-dom' they would never shut up about how they were being SOOO different. If guys who liked MLP didn't constantly bring up how they were doing something 'different' no one would bat a fucking eye. Don't get me started on bronies who make rude remarks @ girls who like videogames because I've seen that shit happen. GDAMn

I’ve known girls and women that have been massive transformers fans for literal years. Where are their shout outs, documentaries, news articles? I guess they don’t get them because unlike bronies, they don’t push out everyone else from their fandom space and make it all about themselves. It took less than three years for bronies to make googling and youtube searching for mlp characters a dangerous game, I can still google for pretty much any Transformer or male superhero safely.

Even when female fans are a massive driving force behind a show’s success they don’t get any respect. Oh, Sherlock has lots of female fans? They’re just dumb fangirls in it for the yaoi, pfft. lots of female doctor who fans? Quick, bring out Moffat to give some more patronising quotes about how he knows what women want better than how they do. Star Trek literally would have stopped airing after the second season if it weren’t for bjo trimble and other female fans? Pfft, women don’t belong in sci fi, where are my big titty scantily clad alien women who are hunting the galaxy for human sperm. Sci fi as a genre was pretty much started by Mary Shelley, female author of Frankenstein in 1823??? Ugh girl cooties.

I have absolutely zero patience for bronies and their victimisation complex. Try having a member of your gender god damn invent a genre and then being told that you don’t belong in it, that it’s not for you. Ugh.

This is (partially) the reason I have not been online. I put a lot of time into this, so I hope you all like my headcanons! And if not, please don’t be rude about it.

((If you’re going to ask, yes Scootaloo has robotic legs and yes that is MtF Fluttershy))
